Museum of Ancient Life

Saturday, August 25, 2007
Thanksgiving Point is home to the world's largest dinosaur museum, North American Museum of Ancient Life. Sophie had a great time here visiting more than 60 mounted dinosaur skeletons and viewing a 3-D dinosaur I-Max movie. As long as she could sit on Daddy's lap, she was not afraid.

Utah Valley Llamas

Saturday, August 18, 2007
There are 50 llamas, extremely calm, gentle, non-aggressive, you can wander freely among them. These pack animals can be rented for family or group camping trips.

The miniature Zebu cows are also quite friendly and sweet.

Sophie has made great strides with her swimming lessons. She enjoys it so much; however, it's now time for her to get ready for preschool next week and this winter skiing lessons.

Antelope Island State Park

Saturday, August 4, 2007
We visited Antelope Island which is the largest island in the Great Salt Lake. Antelope Island (AI) is 15 miles long and 4.5 miles wide. The oldest rocks on AI are some of the oldest found anywhere on earth, older than the rocks found at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. We saw a rock that was dated 7.5 billion years. I would have taken a picture, but Vince said no one would be able to see the difference from the rocks in your own backyard. Anyway, Antelope Island is something to see if you’re ever in Utah.

12 animals were introduced to the island in 1893.
Today’s herd now has 500 - 700.
