RSS What??

Saturday, March 21, 2009
I've included an RSS (Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary or Read Soph Stuff....you choose) feed to the "Just Us" blog site. I'm thinking to myself who has something constructive and meaningful to write about everyday ?!?  Aside from that I don't plan on posting anything while on vacation or if I'm super busy or if I just plain don't feel like it.

RSS feeds will allow you to subscribe (if you want) to my blog site so that you don't have to check on it everyday.  Who has that kind of time, right?  Anyway, once you sign up and how you sign up you will receive a notification (via email or on your personal homepage) that an update has been made to the blog site.  How cool is that?  AND, I don't have to regularly send an email reminder to everyone that an update has been made.  Don't you just love all this new technology?  Well, I've been racking my brain the past couple of days trying to grasp everything.  And my personal tech support (i.e. Vincie) will be unavailable the next couple of days helping other people who are at least contributing to his salary.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Testing a comment - I used "Anonymous" (as I don't have a clue what the other do ;o)

So is this just like FaceBook? I just signed up to it, BTW, because our sis-in-law became a facebook member and "invited" me to join. Now I have all kinds of people I haven't been in contact with for ages writing me. It is pretty neat, but my time for replying has not grown exponentially. Anyway, I like what you have done here and will keep looking if you will keep writing..... Love ya, Sis.

Yes, there are differences between Blogging and being a friend on FaceBook. FaceBook is a social networking site that helps you connect with people from elementary school for example. There are discussion boards that allow for real-time or a direct interaction between your friends. I really haven’t delved into FaceBook that much. I might later as I know it’s a way to promote your blog, especially if you have a business or want to receive visitor traffic. With Blogging, visitors will generally leave responses/comments to your postings. Blogging is like writing a journal. It’s a way to chronicle one’s activities on any topic they choose to write about, ranging from photography to cooking to parenting to personal hobbies to personal experiences, whatever in a conversational style format.
